Scaletta manufactures armored sedans, SUVs, limousines, and vans, in an array of armoring levels. We can advise you about the armor package
and modifications best suited for the vehicle model selected and the protection required.
Because the vehicles used must be able to carry the additional weight of the armor, modifications to the braking, suspension and fuel
system are often necessary. Scaletta performs these modifications as part of the armoring process, and is the only U.S.-based armoring
company that converts limousines in-house. Our vehicles never leave our secure, 100,000 square foot facility during the armoring process.
Armor Packages
We offer four standard levels of armor protection, in addition to customer-specified protection. The graphic below depicts the ammunition
that each standard level protects against.
Each of Scaletta’s standard armor packages protects against a defined level of threat, such as handgun threats, rifle threats, and
armor piercing threats. Each is verified by independently tested ballistic data, available for your review.
Features and Options
Armor packages include the following features and options:
Opaque passenger compartment armoring: Doors, roofs, rails, pillars, roof and
floor are armored to defeat all potential shot lines. Armor is overlapped at critical seams, such as the window perimeters and door handles.
Steel Mesh Tailpipe Inserts: Mesh inserts prevent the assailants from inserting
objects or devices in the vehicle’s tailpipe.
Dual battery system: A second automotive battery connects to the original via a
heavy duty relay, and activates if the original becomes disabled. Both batteries charge during normal operation.
Engine fire suppression system: In the event of engine fire, this heat
activated fire extinguisher is engaged to suppress flames.
